The “Advanced” Test Realm is Heading to Live Realm!

May 11, 2014

The long-awaited Pirate101 Test Realm is being shipped to live tomorrow, bringing a crazy amount of updates, including an advanced pet system, an advanced companion system, new free-to-play content, and a large variety of other things! You can find the full update notes here and/or read below for a quick summary of the major updates. Advanced Pets         The Circus Maximus has arrived in Skull Island, allowing you to train your pets to make them more fearsome in battle! There is a new quest that will show you the ins-and-outs of the new system, including pet sparring. You can start by talking to the Town Crier near Captain Avery’s house.     Advanced Companions         Your worthless companions *cough cough* Batacuda *cough cough* can now be sent away on missions, and once completed, these missions can bring you tons of loot, such as gold, nautical experience, gear, pet loot, and other helpful treasures! Not only that, but no longer do you have to worry about a random companion showing up in battle. Yes, you heard that right! Now your first 3 companions will always show up in battle! However, if they are defeated, they will become wounded, and will not be as efficient in battle. You can send them to bed rest to heal them (They can’t fight while they’re in it), or you can visit Miracle Mitch, a new NPC in one of the new buildings of the new-and-improved  Avery’s Court. He will heal your wounded companions, but for a hefty price. New Free-to-Play Content         While there’s no new content fit for the people who have already beaten the game, there is some new low level free-to-play content, and some new content is better than none! The quests given by some of  Ratbeard’s Crew (Jack, Manny, and Moe) have been changed, and have been made more exciting! There are even brand new areas, and new drops! You can complete these by questing normally on a pirate who hasn’t reached that point yet, and if you’ve passed it, talk to the Town Crier by Avery’s house, and then head to Traitor’s Cave on Blood Shoals.
